About Emmons-Brumley Roots & Branches
Please sign in to see more.
Hello, and thank you for your interest in this big family tree website.
Ancestors from England, Germany, Ireland, Scotland, Switzerland, Hungary and Netherlands are known. I want to thank my CONTRIBUTORS of ancestor research, wonderful older family photos, documents and newspaper clippings: DON A. EMMONS, CHERYL CAKO-CHAMBERS, WILMA EMMONS-WAGONER- RENFORTH, FERENC & MARIKA HORVATH in HUNGARY, DOUGLAS A. TRAVER, CAROLYN CAKO-WANTUCK, IRIS WINGETT- BRUMLEY. STEPHANIE TRAVER-GILE, ROBERT VAN DUSEN, PHIL VAN DUSEN.

We know our Brumley line came from England, we are still doing research. The surname Emans/Emmons was researched by my brother DON EMMONS. There are three or four separate lines in America. Don meticulously traced our father's EMMONS ancestry to John Emans a goldsmith, from London, ENGLAND. He arrived on the ship "BONNY BESS" that landed at James City, Virginia, Sept. 12, 1624. In that research Don turned up verified MALE LINEAGE with the GENERAL SOCIETY OF MAYFLOWER DESCENDANTS with Job Emans marrying Hannah Bonham. To read about Don Emmons's surname search, go to PEOPLE, at the top of this page then "STORIES" Update On The Mayflower Line. UPDATE 2022: Don has been granted membership in the GENERAL SOCIETY OF MAYFLOWER DESCENDANTS. Documents and the headstone of a second wife has proved our lineage to Hezekiah Bonham.
My Aunt Wilma Emmons-Wagoner made sure I knew about our Hostetler-Mast ancestors buried beside County Line Brethren church in Historic Mount Zion Cemetery, in La Paz, In. Samuel and Mary were Thelma C. Wright-Emmons' maternal grandparents. HOSTETLER/Hochstetler ancestry has been well researched back to the Amish immigrant from SWITZERLAND who arrived on the ship "CHARMING NANCY", a and his family being attacked by Indians. Jacob's oldest son John living at his own farm close-by is my direct genetic line. Read about Jacob Hochstetler in PEOPLE, at the top of this page then "STORIES" THE HOCHSTETLER MASSACRE and other stories I have included for you including pictures.

In 2011 My Maternal Grandmother Rose M. CAKO[Czako]-Traver ancestry can be traced to living relatives in Hungary of Benjamin and Veronica Czako, son Julius and daughter Helen that came from HUNGARY to Ellis Island. I have been lucky that Cheryl-Chambers Cako included me in her research also putting me in touch with a relative in Hungary, who had been researching the ancestors, his name is Ferenc Horvath, who sent us pictures and documents.
